History of Renaissance Station

Renaissance was built as a "New Beginning" between the Romulan, Klingon and Federation peoples. After the War, Cardassia was in need of rebuilding. Hunger and disease prevailed on the once great home world of Cardassia, hundreds of children were orphaned and ran in gangs trying to survive. A never before seen endeavor between the Romulans, Klingons and Federation was born to ease the suffering and is called Sky Harbor Aegis.

Unfortunately, troop rotation from Cardassia to the Klingon and Romulan home worlds ended up bringing diseases that spread throughout the planets quickly. Diseases that had never been seen on these worlds before, diseases that killed hundreds, diseases with no foreseeable cure. This also depleted their militaries, leaving both worlds open to possible invasion from other forces. Reluctant to show any weakness, both these worlds tried to deal with these problems on their own until finally, in desperation, they turned to the Federation for help and medical relief.

There are those on both Home worlds who believe that this may be a plot by the Federation to destroy their enemies as the people in the Federation have been minimally affected by the diseases that have raged so freely amongst the Klingons and Romulans.

The Federation immediately started to build a relief station which was named Star Base Beta X, but more commonly called Renaissance Station. The station is in the Beta Quadrant and set an equal distance between Earth, Romulus and Qonos, able to render aide quickly to either planet with either medical or defensive assistance.

Only those willing to be part of this collaboration and willing to set aside any Xenophobic impulses they may have are sent to RenStat. Those that are sent soon find something within themselves that they may not have realized existed before.
