Ten Commandments of Simming
1. Thou shalt respect thy fellow simmer. The "Golden Rule" applies here at all times. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. If you want people to treat you with respect please share the same courtesy.
2. Thou shalt respect the privacy of others. Real life names, addresses, phone numbers, ages etc do not need to be posted to the chat room. Mailstrings are for use of current members only.
3. Our GMs are our friends. Be kind to them, for they're volunteers and are dedicating they're time to help make this forum a fun place for everyone to play.
4. Thou shalt not action another members' character it is their creation. Please respect the creator of a character and do not action them in chat or in logs.
5. Thou shalt remember this is a game. If someone gets upset with your character in the game they are not upset with you personally. Keep In Character and Out Of Character seperate.
6. Thou shalt ENJOY YOURSELF. Please remember this is a game, and we're all here to have fun and get away from the real world for a bit.
7. Thou shalt be a team player. It takes away from the fun of the game if one person is always saving the day. Please remember to work wth the other folks in the sim. Be a team player.
8. Thou shalt keep thyself busy. Not all plots will revolve around your particular department. The mark of a good role player is being able to keep yourself busy. If you are unsure what to do, send an instant message to your Department head (DH) or the GM and get some guidance.
9. Thou shalt follow the GM's direction. When the GM starts the game please respect that and end the out of character chatter. Watch the action statements they put to screen and try to follow along. If you get lost, send an instant message to the GM and ask if they can help you.
10. Thou shalt have fun. Yes, this rule is being repeated. It is one of the most important concepts behind role playing. Learn the basics, learn the mechanics but also have fun!
