Ten Commandments of Simming

1. Thou shalt respect thy fellow simmer. The "Golden Rule" applies here at all times. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. If you want people to treat you with respect please share the same courtesy.

2. Thou shalt respect the privacy of others. Real life names, addresses, phone numbers, ages etc do not need to be posted to the chat room.

3. Our GMs are our friends. Be kind to them, for they're volunteers and are dedicating they're time to help make this forum a fun place for everyone to play.

4. Thou shalt not action another members' character it is their creation. Please respect the creator of a character and do not action them in chat or in logs.

5. Thou shalt remember this is a game. If someone gets upset with your character in the game they are not upset with you personally. Keep In Character and Out Of Character seperate.

6. Thou shalt ENJOY YOURSELF. Please remember this is a game, and we're all here to have fun and get away from the real world for a bit.

7. Thou shalt be a team player. It takes away from the fun of the game if one person is always saving the day. Please remember to work wth the other folks in the sim. Be a team player.

8. Thou shalt keep thyself busy. Not all plots will revolve around your particular department. The mark of a good role player is being able to keep yourself busy. If you are unsure what to do, send an instant message to your Department head (DH) or the GM and get some guidance.

9. Thou shalt follow the GM's direction. When the GM starts the game please respect that and end the out of character chatter. Watch the action statements they put to screen and try to follow along. If you get lost, send an instant message to the GM and ask if they can help you.

10. Thou shalt have fun. Yes, this rule is being repeated. It is one of the most important concepts behind role playing. Learn the basics, learn the mechanics but also have fun!

These are a few things you should know about the Galactic Freedom Command.

We try to make Role Playing/SIMs fun. Over the years we have realized that to do so we must have some basic rules that we make all players follow.

The GFC is run by the GM Council. This council is made up of 6 members.

Fleet Admiral Mykal Dar
Admiral Eric Westbrooke
Rear Admiral Rhiannon Aubrey
Rear Admiral Mac Freise
Rear Admiral Chris Harrington
Rear Admiral Dan Webster

The Council votes on all issues that govern the GFC and majority rules. All Council members must be Game Masters (GMs). This means that they are currently the CO or XO of a SIM.

The Game Masters (GMs) are people who have been members of the GFC for at least 6 months and have gone through several phases of training to accomplish their position. This affords us well trained individuals who realize the importance of their players and their responsibility to them.

We provide material that is helpful for members of the GFC. These manuals are meant to help guide you in your role play but are not the end all of role play. If you have anything that you feel should be added to the manuals, please send your submission to fltadmmykaldra@aol.com .

All members are required to submit a bio to their Game Master (also known as the Command Team) for approval and post the approved bio to their SIM's message board. The Command Team will outline what they disapprove of if they do not accept the bio and the member will have a chance to submit a revised bio. Please remember that your character is a recently graduated cadet.

The GFC does not accept Borg, Borg implants, Q, Immortals or races that are from non federation worlds. At this point we do not have any "Voyager" type SIMs which negates Delta Quadrant species. All new members will consider that their character has just graduated from the academy and that the ship they are posted to is their first assignment. We do not allow characters who are drug addicts or alcoholics. Some command teams are more strict on what they will allow on their SIMs than others. You may wish to discuss this with them before writing a bio.

If a SIM wants to join the GFC they must have at least 5 members for them to be considered. They must submit a roster of their players and all the players must agree to read and take the course tests. This is not to stifle creativity but as a group we are representing each other and it is important that we are all on the same page. Each SIM runs its own Story Line/Plot except when we hold a Fleet Wide Simulation. Members of one SIM are welcome to take on Additional Duty and join another SIM in the group if they desire and have the time. To do this you must just fill out the Additional Duty Application.

All members of the GFC are expected to respect each other. This means you don't go behind the back of a GFC member and talk about them in order to make them look bad. Back stabbing and malicious gossip will be dealt with quickly. Please refer to the 1st Commandment.

If a member brings an accusation against another member they must be able to produce a log that backs them up. He said, she said is not a game we will play. If you can't produce a log to prove what was said or what happened then it is best to get over it. Nothing will destroy a group faster than people who cannot act mature and move past real or percieved wrongs. Above all, HAVE FUN.
